We like to cycle with our children. That` s why we mapped out this great & easy ride for you and your little cyclists! It takes you on very quiet gravel country roads without any traffic. You`ll ride along the river which is pleasant also on the hottest of the summer days. Visiting the city of Ajdovščina, kids will love to stop at the playground. It`s a perfect time to have some ice cream too, as the place next to the park serves the best one around! For just a quick lunch or extended food tasting, visit a restaurant called Faladur and try some of the best Vipava Valley`s delicacies.
This family cycling route starts at our RockVelo base in village of Skrilje. The circular route is signposted and takes you through quiet villages down to Vipava River. There you will continue easy cycling along the gravel roads before climbing up to the picturesque hill-top-town of Vipavski Križ. You can have a lunch stop at our bike point Darovi Vipavske on the main square and then head back to the starting point via quiet country roads.
This beautiful route starts at RockVelo and takes you along the Vipava river, with a bit of climbing on side roads and gravel paths. Visit the Vipava old town, ride over Napoleon`s bridge and climb up to the medieval city of Vipavski Križ. This is one of our favorite routes for a half-day cycling trip! Looking for a bit more challenging route with more climbing and beautiful views? This track starts at RockVelo and takes you through the Vipava Valley with a short visit of most famous Karst village of Štanjel! Riding side roads and gravel paths, expect to spend at least half day to complete this tour. Warm your engines as this route is called a "queen stage" for a good reason! Start this route from RockVelo and ride first part on the hilly terrain through the Vipava Valley and Karst regions. In the second part, the fun starts! Tackle one of the most grueling climbs in Slovenia taking you up to Predmeja!
