At the same time, you will get to know the special features of the Vipava valley, its nature, culture and cuisine! While cycling, you can have a cycling picnic by the Vipava River or taste authentic local delicacies in the charming town of Vipava Cross. The trip is suitable for couples and families of all ages. You can rent any kid` s bike size with us, as well child seats and bicycle trailers. E-bikes for kids and adults are also available! We offer the Vipava valley family cycling experience all year round. The most suitable time is certainly spring and autumn when the temperatures are the most suitable, and nature is dressed in its most beautiful colors. Early autumn is the time of grape harvest, which gives a special charm. If you visit us in the summer, you can also cool off in the clean Vipava river on your trip!
The family cycling experience takes you along the side gravel paths of the Vipava valley. You only cycle along the main roads for a very short time, and the paved roads have very little traffic. The only significant climb on the route will be to the Vipavski Križ, which is why even occasional cyclists can handle it.
E-bikes make the trip even easier and we do recommend using them over classic bikes!
The entire route is also suitable for cycling with young children (1-4 years) using a child seat or bike trailer.
The trip can be shortened or extended, so take your time and enjoy these special family moments!
Cycling is an outdoor sport, so you may get a few raindrops along the way! Always carry some spare clothes with you. In case of weather conditions that do not allow a safe organization of the tour, we reserve the right to postpone the reservation to a more favorable date or refund the purchase price.
It is best to start the trip at the base location of the RockVelo, near Ajdovščina. We have all bike types and rental equipment available at this location.
The recommended start time is between 9:00 and 10:00 in the morning.
Upon agreement, it is possible to start the experience at other RockVelo bike rental locations. In this case, please let us know in the reservation form and we will send you a provisional offer with added bike delivery costs.

Cancellation conditions:
- up to 14 days before the trip €15 administrative costs
- up to 7 days before the trip: 30% of the trip price
- less than 7 days before the trip: 100% of the trip price
In case of unfavorable weather conditions, which make it impossible to carry out the tour safely, the dates can be changed free of charge or paid amount will be returned deducting administrative costs.
